The Stories feature in GolfGuiders allows users to share short-lived, casual updates — such as course visits, tournament memories, golf swings, or behind-the-scenes moments. Each story remains visible for 24 hours before automatically disappearing, encouraging spontaneous and authentic sharing.
Viewing Stories
To view a story, simply tap on a profile image to open it in full-screen mode.
Stories are displayed at the top of the Feeds screen in a horizontally scrollable carousel.
Each story is represented by a circular profile image with a border indicator that signifies stories.
Story Playback Controls
- Tap left or right: Navigate to the previous or next story segment.
- Hold: Pause the current story.
- Swipe down: Exit the story view.
- Stories automatically play in sequence from the selected profile onward.
Creating a Story
To post your own story:
- Open the Feeds screen.
- Tap on “Add Story” (first card with a 📷 icon).
Image Story
- Capture a photo directly or upload one from your device.
- Tap “Create Story” to publish immediately.
Video Story
Duration: Minimum 5 seconds, maximum 30 seconds.
Tap the red record button (bottom-right) to record a real-time video, or upload a pre-recorded video from your device.
Optionally trim the video as needed.
Tap “Upload” (top-right) to publish your story.
⏱️ Note: All stories remain live for 24 hours unless manually deleted.
Managing Your Stories
Tap your own story thumbnail to view it.
Tap the eye icon to view the list of viewers.
Tap the trash icon to delete the story at any time.
Best Practices & Tips
- Use stories to showcase your daily golf experiences, course visits, equipment, or casual behind-the-scenes moments.
- Avoid posting sensitive or private content, as stories are publicly visible and cannot be individually restricted.
- You can add multiple stories throughout the day; they will be played in the order they were posted.
